While I am trained as a human geographer, I think of myself as an interdisciplinary scholar who works at the intersections of race, space, and power. The research questions I ask can be broken into three intellectual projects. The first is my interest in understanding the dialectical relationships among urban political economy, racialization, and the politics of space. Second, my current research is focused on the emerging use of data science and technology as governance strategies that intersect with race, immigration, and social justice. A third area of focus is my ongoing public-facing research that supports efforts by community-based organizations to resolve entrenched social disparities.
